Halo 4 world championship gets $500,000 prize pot
343 Industries announces the Halo 4 Global Championship, a free-for-all tournament with a $200,000 prize for the winning player.
343 Industries has announced a $500,000 competition for Halo 4, with a $200,000 grand prize going to the winner of the free-for-all tournament.
The five-week online tournament kicks off on July 15, with registered players earning points through Halo 4's new Global Championship playlist. Players who finish in the top four each week will qualify for the final stage of the competition.
Attendees of the Rooster Teeth Expo in Austin, Texas, this weekend can also take part in a local Wild Card tournament to qualify for the final.
The Halo 4 Global Championship final takes place in Seattle and runs from August 31 to September 1, with 343 Industries paying the travel bill for all qualifying finalists.
The tournament is being run by Halo developer 343 Industries and Virgin Gaming.
