Halo 3 ringing NY, SF IMAXes

What could be better for Bungie fans than lounging at home on September 25, playing Halo 3 on a big-screen TV? Why, Playing Halo 3 on a towering IMAX theater screen, of course. With Halo 3 having officially reached gold status last week, Pontiac has announced it will be hosting a "First to Play" promotional event at the AMC Metreon in San Francisco on September 11 and AMC Loews in New York on September 13. Entrance is limited to the first 200 individuals in line (with one guest) who have an invitation, so towing along lawn chairs and/or camping gear may be advisable.

For a chance to win tickets to the promotional events, head over to Pontiac's Halo 3 Web site. There, would-be Master Chiefs can also sign up for Pontiac's "First to Own" sweepstakes to receive a copy of Halo 3 early. To enter, participants must first unscramble the letters of a city and abbreviated state, and then answer a Pontiac-specific trivia question. Winners will receive a copy of Halo 3 on or before September 24. The sweepstakes runs on four separate occasions, with 250 winners drawn from each pool.
