The PC version of Grand Theft Auto V has been delayed for a second time, and is now scheduled to launch March 24, Rockstar Games announced Tuesday. The game was initially scheduled to ship in "Fall 2014", and then in late January.

"Our apologies for the slight shift in the date but the game requires a few extra weeks of testing and polish to make it as good as can be," Rockstar said on its social site Rockstar Newswire.

"Moving a release date is never a decision we take lightly and is a choice we make only when we know it is in the best interests of the game and our fans. Thanks everyone for your understanding and we assure you these few extra weeks will be worth it when the game does arrive in March."

GTA V for PC will also feature a new editing tool called the Rockstar Editor. This will give players a "full suite" of tools that they can use to create and publishing clips to the Rockstar Social Club and YouTube.

Like the Xbox One and PlayStation 4 editions of GTA V, which arrived in November 2014, the PC version will support up to 30 players for GTA Online, the game's multiplayer mode. In addition, the PC edition will include GTA Online Heists, which are due to launch for consoles "in the coming weeks."

Meanwhile, Rockstar has revealed the recommended and minimum PC specs required to play the open-world crime opus. At minimum, players will need 4GB of memory and a quad core processor that runs at least at 2.5GHz. Rockstar suggests the ideal experience will require 8GB of memory and an Intel core i5 chip (or equivalent), capable of running at 3.2GHz. The install size is 65GB.

Rockstar also says the Windows edition supports up to 4K resolution, 60fps, and triple monitor configurations, as well as NVidia 3D Vision. You can see the first GTA V PC images in the image gallery above.

The breakdown of PC specs, written by Rockstar, is listed below.

Minimum specifications:

  • OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1, Windows Vista 64 Bit Service Pack 2* (*NVIDIA video card recommended if running Vista OS)
  • Processor: Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600 @ 2.40GHz (4 CPUs) / AMD Phenom 9850 Quad-Core Processor (4 CPUs) @ 2.5GHz
  • Memory: 4GB
  • Video Card: NVIDIA 9800 GT 1GB / AMD HD 4870 1GB (DX 10, 10.1, 11)
  • Sound Card: 100% DirectX 10 compatible
  • HDD Space: 65GB
  • DVD Drive

Recommended specifications:

  • OS: Windows 8.1 64 Bit, Windows 8 64 Bit, Windows 7 64 Bit Service Pack 1
  • Processor: Intel Core i5 3470 @ 3.2GHZ (4 CPUs) / AMD X8 FX-8350 @ 4GHZ (8 CPUs)
  • Memory: 8GB
  • Video Card: NVIDIA GTX 660 2GB / AMD HD7870 2GB
  • Sound Card: 100% DirectX 10 compatible

GTA V was originally released in September 2013 for last-generation consoles, shipping 34 million copies. The game launched for current-generation machines in November, and sales are going strong, as GTA V was the second best-selling game of November 2014 in the US.

<< LINK REMOVED >> There are those who live in denial that console and PC graphics aren't different. But then there are those who just don't care that they are.

I'd much rather have a machine that I can pull out of a box and begin gaming on without having to check if all the drivers are correctly installed or whether there is enough cooling for my GPU.

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >>4K, or Ultra HD as it's also being marketed, manages to cram four times as many pixels in as Full HD. In other words, a Full HD TV would have a little over 2 million pixels, while a 4K Ultra HD TV would have a staggering 8.3 million, thanks to a massive resolution of 3,840 x ,2160 pixels.

Do you even math?
Height and width are doubled in 4k so that meants you can fit 4 1080p images in one 4k resolution screen.

<< LINK REMOVED >> Good point. However, by the time you play this game on PC it will have been out on console for a year and a half. Pretty sure that trumps any graphical advantage the PC may have. lols

Sounds like if anyone is trying to convince themselves of anything it's you buddy. I think the textbook definition is called being "delusional". Keep up the good work sport. ;)

Typical PC elitism. You toss out negligent specs for what amounts to zero difference when you actually put the two side-by -side anyway. You'd honestly have to be a complete snob to sit there are pick apart things like pixels and shading.

Someone who's already long since played the PS4/X1 versions will never notice or care about your ultra settings. For all intent purposes they already played the exact same game you've been waiting almost a year and a half for. Delusional.

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> Yeah, yeah. Whatever nerd. You know; the only thing worse than console warring fanboys are PC elitist cóck munchers such as yourself.

Now come on; tell the truth. You have a budget range PC, which isn't really all that more powerful than a PS4 or Xbox One. And you think that somehow qualifies for admission to this so-called "PC Master Race", which, as far as I can tell seems to be full of complete díck bags like you.

I game on PC too, but man, I would never claim to be part of some "PC Master Race" and look down on people who game on consoles (which is mostly out of choice, by the way, not because they have to, so stop calling them peasants). Why in the fúck would I want to be part of a community like THAT and be proud of it?

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >> You know what? Considering my comment was quite abrasive and insulting, that was a very civilised and rational response. New found respect for you, sir.

And by the way, I really don’t take this serious at all. I find warring console fans pathetic and I don’t know why people compare PCs and consoles all the time because they’re completely different and it’s just laughable to see PC gamers acting all superior to console gamers.

I apologise for my remarks towards you, but I still stand by what I said about PC elitism, it’s a joke.

Ouch. Console gamers have had their 2nd remastered version of GTAV on the next gen before PC gamers even see their 1st...which was delayed yet again. Master race...more like endangered species.

Nope. But you abviously are. Steam stats and user accounts don't mean crap. I have an account and used it once. Many never went past the account sign up. Half of steam users are casual gamers.

But again, if you're so superior, why don't you have GTAV yet? Where's Destiny for PC? The Ladt of Us? Steam numbers don't seem to be getting you very far does it? But you have fun playing dinky semi-scary Flash games on your might rig and watch other peoples reaction on YouTube. Idlot.

The platform doesn't need Rockstar to rake in more money than all consoles combined.
