Way back in 2007 when Rock Band was still just an unproven IP from MTV Games and Guitar Hero creators Harmonix, the game was already catering to its base--as well as a Deadhead or two. At that time, the Grateful Dead agreed to lend some 18 master tracks to the nascent franchise, with the first six debuting in early 2008.

Nearly a year on, and the second round of Grateful Dead tracks is ready to go on tour. Harmonix revealed today that next week's Rock Band DLC will be a sixpack from the psychedelic-rock group. The six songs included in the Grateful Dead Pack 02 are: "Hell in a Bucket," "Don't Ease Me In," "Cold Rain & Snow," "Doin' That Rag," "Fire on the Mountain," and "Uncle John's Band." The set will be available for $9.99 (800 Microsoft points), or each track can be purchased individually at $1.99 a pop.

The Grateful Dead Pack 02 will be available through Xbox Live beginning on January 27, with the PlayStation Network edition following on January 29. It is compatible with both the original Rock Band and its recently released successor. For more information, check out GameSpot's full review of Rock Band 2.
