R. L. Stine's "Goosebumps" book series was a reading cornerstone for kids in the early '90s. There was a television series that adapted some of the more well-known books from Fox Kids that ran for 74 episodes in 1995-1998. Now, Disney is bringing back the beloved series in a brand-new adaptation starting October 13.

The first five episodes will debut as part of Disney+'s Hallowstream event as well as Hulu's Huluween where haunts and horrors take the forefront for October. In addition to that, Goosebumps' first two episodes will air simultaneously on Freeform as part of its yearly 31 Nights of Halloween celebration on the same night.

"R.L. Stine's 'Goosebumps' franchise is a pop culture phenomenon that holds a special place in the hearts of people of all ages," said Ayo Davis, president of Disney Branded Television in a statement. "We are delighted to bring this spooky new series to audiences everywhere in a big way on Disney+ and Hulu, which we hope will not only captivate new audiences with its elevated thrills and chills but also lifelong fans nostalgic for the stories that are a staple of their generation."

The all-new series follows a group of five high schoolers as they go off on a shadowy and mysterious journey to investigate the tragic passing three decades earlier of a teen named Harold Biddle, all the while also discovering dark secrets from their parents' past.

Goosebumps stars Justin Long (Barbarian) and Rachael Harris (Lucifer), with newcomers Zack Morris (EastEnders), Isa Briones (Star Trek: Picard), Miles McKenna (Guilty Party), Ana Yi Puig (Gossip Girl) and Will Price (The Equalizer).
