GMX Media has today announced that it has secured the rights to publish Cold War Conflict in the UK. The real-time strategy game, which is currently in development at Walkon Games, features four campaigns set in the Cold War era between 1950 and 1973.

"Based on the gameplay of the award-winning Sudden Strike games but with the flair of the Cold War theaters, this is certain to take the UK by storm," said Barry Leonard, COO of GMX Media. "We are due to kick off a massive marketing campaign in two weeks, which we hope will all but guarantee a chart position on release."

The military forces of eight different military factions will be available to players, including USA, Israel, Egypt, North Korea, Great Britain/UNO, Syria, USSR, and China. Each of the factions in the game will boast up to 50 different units. The game's campaigns are described as nonlinear, with the results of certain missions influencing the starting positions and available forces in the following mission.

"Cold War Conflicts is a very strong PC title with the potential to hit the market," said Oliver Jägers of Walkon Games. "We are very confident that GMX is the right partner for us and they will make the game a great success in the UK."

Cold War Conflicts is currently scheduled for release in the UK in March 2004. We'll bring you more information on the game as soon as it becomes available.
