No Caption Provided Nintendo was busy with the 2011 Nintendo World Event in Japan this past weekend, where much of the attention was focused on the 3DS, but the Wii maker also found time to release seven new downloadable titles today.

Leading the charge this week is a double shot of classic Capcom titles on the Virtual Console. Ghosts 'n Goblins (800 Wii points, or $8), from the arcade era, is out now. The 1985 title sees players controlling Arthur, a knight fighting hordes of nefarious creatures on his way to saving his princess.

The other nostalgic Capcom title out now is Exed Exes (800 Wii points, or $8). Another 1985 arcade release, the vertically scrolling shooter has players blasting everything in sight, swallowing up fruit and working together in multiplayer mode to rack up points for a high score.

Switching to WiiWare, Nintendo added two new titles and a demo to the download space today, the first of which is Disney’s JellyCar 2 (500 Wii points, or $5). The quirky driving platformer has 30 levels, a multiplayer component, and leaderboards for players to post their scores to.

Also out on WiiWare now is Soccer Bashi (500 Wii points, or $5). From Icon Games Entertainment, the title is dubbed "soccer of the future," and has players breaking down defender blocks to open the goal and send home a winner. The game sports a level editor, 90 distinct challenges, and several game modes, including Customizable Tournaments and Arcade.

Those looking to try before they buy today can download a free sampler for Art of Balance. The title--which sells for 800 Wii points, or $8--is a physics-based puzzle game where players must stack a set of shapes without the construction collapsing.

Landing on DSiWare today were three new games, the first of which is Petz Catz Family (800 DSi points, or $8). From Ubisoft, this feline release has players bonding with an entire family of cats. Gamers will "love them and watch them grow," as well as discover each cat's unique personalities.

Also out now on DSiWare is Surfacer+ (500 DSi points, or $5). The title tasks players with covering a certain percentage of the DSi's screen with flowers while enemy marbles bounce around the playfield. As players fill the screen with flora, the game gets harder, with the marbles bouncing around an increasingly smaller amount of free space.

The last title out this week on DSiWare is EJ Puzzles: Hooked (500 DSi points, or $5). From Electron Jump, the fishing title has players venturing to the deep waters looking for fish to reel in. Players must catch fish in the right order, as hooking a catch too large too early will snap the line.

Good to see Ghosts and Goblins out there. Let us simply put this is one of the most relentless and brutal games ever made in terms of difficulty, and for that reason I love it!!
