Russia-based publisher Games Factory Interactive announced a new game from recently acquired developer MiST land - South titled 4th Battalion. The action role-playing game will be released for PCs in the beginning of 2006.

The game takes place in the far-flung future, a time when humanity has colonized the entire solar system and has, in the meantime, started a space war. Players are thrust into the mess as a squad leader in the game's namesake 4th Battalion, part of a Mars-based army that's attempting to restore order to the solar system. The game will feature advanced graphics, a nonlinear plot, and the ability for the player to create and control an army.

The game's announcement follows on the heels of GFi's acquisition of MiST land - South earlier this week. The fellow Russkies had previously collaborated on the PC RPG Paradise Cracked. MiST is also working on Jagged Alliance 3D for the PC.
