When it comes to workhorse notebooks, Apple's MacBook's hit a sweet spot for portability, power, and functionality. They're also a big investment, but for Amazon Prime Day Round 2, the high-end MacBook Air has been marked down considerably from their MSRP of $1,499 to $1,299. This deal is for a 2023 MacBook Air with a 15-inch screen and 256GB of storage capacity.

There's lots to love here, from the impossibly thin design of the notebook to its Liquid Retina display that provides some incredible visuals. With a high resolution, 500 nits of brightness, P3 wide color, and support for one billion colors, you're getting an excellent display for any work that requires a keen eye for color.

The other big selling factor on the MacBook is its M2 chip, which when combined with the rest of its specs, provides incredible performance for a wide range of demanding apps through the optimized macOS operating system. Basically, if you need to work through 4K video clips or run 3D rendering programs, the M2 setup has you covered. Additionally, the M2 chip allows for power-efficient performance so you'll be able to get plenty of hours out of this notebook on any given day.

It's also remarkably silent as the MacBook has a fanless design, and for socializing, there's a 1080p FaceTime HD camera and three-mic array. If you feel like kicking back and watching some Netflix, you'll get rock-solid audio through the six-speaker sound system.

If you'd prefer a laptop running a Windows operating system, then you can choose from several powerful gaming laptops that got big discounts this week.
