Genshin Impact 2.6 Update Releases On March 30, Adds New Zone And Five-Star Character
Genshin Impact expands once again on March 30 with a new location to explore, festivities to take part in, and the return of familiar faces.
Genshin Impact's next update, Zephyr of the Violet Garden, will officially launch on March 30 and features a number of new additions to the action-RPG. The Chasm, a brand-new area located at the westernmost part of Liyue, will be available to explore, the newest five-star character Kamisato Ayato will debut, and the Magnificent Irodori Festival will kick off in this update. For fans of the game's lore, you can also expect story threads of the Traveler Twins and Khaenri'ah to finally be uncovered.
The Chasm is described as a deep underground space that has been overrun by monsters and the Fatui, and is also home to a new boss enemy called Ruin Serpent and an unknown danger from the Abyss. Genshin Impact's main story continues with the new Archon Quest "Requiem of the Echoing Depths" in this update, and new rewards include new weapons such as the five-star sword from Inazuma called Haran Geppaku Futsu.
For the newest character in the roster, Kamisato Ayato functions as an offensive warrior who uses a combination of hydro sword attacks and teleportation to cleave through enemies. Ayato can also leave behind an explosive after-image that further weakens enemies with a storm of swords. To top it all off, Ayato can increase the normal attack damage of your team and he gains an elemental skill charging buff when not in play.
For upcoming events, there's plenty to look forward to as well. The Violet Garden festival will see familiar faces venture to Inazuma, with some of the activities including taking themed photographs for a Mondstadt bard, clearing stages in the upgraded Theater Mechanicus, dueling in sword fighting, or practicing the art of flower arrangement. Taking part in these festivities will unlock Xingqiu as a free character.
For anyone playing right now, several announcement codes were shown in today's livestream as well, and these will reward you with Primogems, EXP materials, and other gear for upgrades. These codes expire on March 19, so you'll need to redeem them quickly inside of the game.
