GDC 2000

The next Game Developers Conference announced for March of 2000.

Miller Freeman announced Tuesday that the next Game Developers Conference will be held March 9-13, 2000 in San Jose, Calif. at the San Jose Convention Center. Once again, the GAMEXecutive Conference will occur at roughly the same time, March 9-10.

The 1999 GDC was the highest attended show in the conference's history, according to Miller Freeman, with an attendance of more than 9,500attendees as well as more than 450 members of the press. 310 executives attended the first GAMEXecutive Conference. A second GDC Independent Games Festival will also be held - entries are due in by September 1, 1999.

"The GDC had an overwhelming show of support and acknowledgment from speakers, exhibitors, attendees, and press this year," said Jennifer Pahlka, Director of the GDC and GAMEXecutive conferences. "The game industry is the fastest-growing segment of the entertainment market, and we will continue to evolve with it - providing our community with this critical forum for learning, interaction and expression."
