Gates of Discord swing open

The realms of EverQuest got a little bigger today, when Sony Online Entertainment shipped EverQuest: Gates of Discord. The latest expansion pack contains a variety of new additions to the best-selling fantasy massive-multiplayer online game, including:

• Unexplored continent of Taelosia, which is (naturally) full of new artifacts, weapons, treasures, and spells.
• 20 new zones, ten new instanced zones and ten new traditional zones, including a huge ship-city zone, complete with merchants, tradesman, and quest-givers.
• New combat zones and dozens of new quests for high-level characters.
• 100 new alternate advancement abilities.
• New leadership skills and abilities that can allow leaders designate attack orders or just identify targets for group raids.
• New leadership experience which unlocks many group and raid-enhancing abilities.
• New berserker class that lets players attack with two-handed axes or by hurl huge objects.
• 20 all-new NPC models.
• A new tribute system that allows players to make offerings at their home cities in exchange skills and attributes.
