GameSpot's Best of Show Winners for E3 2013

This damn site used to have a list of all e3 games by platfrom (pc, ps3 etc) but this year they screwed it up, the layout of the e3 cover was horrible.

I hear ya, I have learned to just ignore reviews by magazines and websites, unless the review results are determined by gamer's like you and me through voting. One of the more reliable review systems I have found is GameFly's, there the games are rated buy the people renting them, they even have the choice to write their own review if they'd like. With that being said though sometimes some games get a bad review everywhere but might still appeal to you. For an example I liked all the Operation Flashpoint games but the reviews everywhere were horrible, I have talked about this many times and the consensus was that people didn't like the realness of it, they are so used to being able to get shot many times before dying, plus there is no health regeneration, so you have to patch yourself and your teammates up when you get a chance. So many gamers that like shooters are so used to the run n' gun mentality that games like that have a hard time. This is one of the reasons renting is so important, because of the reviews I didn't buy it but after I rented it I did and the next one. If M$ ever gets their way all that will be over, we will be stuck with what we know is good, unless we decide to take a chance on something. I think if renting is gone then new IP's may have a really hard time getting off the ground. Sorry if I'm getting off the subject and starting to rant, I just hate M$'s new DRM policies and I can see many ways it will hurt the gaming industry.

This has gotta be the most disappointing console launch since way before the launch of the PS2 and Xbox. The games and consoles just seem devoid of life or perhaps I have reached an age where I'm no longer a gamer. Where are the new IPs like Assassin's Creed, Mass Effect, Bioshock, and Uncharted? All we see is the franchises being redone. Nothing new or revolutionary. Do I really want to play the same game over and over again? Perhaps but it would take a lot more than they have shown us. For me Witcher 3 was the most interesting game. I'm a big scifi fan and I really can't find anything to dig my teeth into. I can't believe we had to wait 8 year for this - I was going to buy a new console but now I'm questioning why should I? Most of the games will still come out for the old consoles with just 720p graphics...

That video about the controllers was very anti Sony's controller. lol I agree. Sony is good with power, terrible with design.

Destiny looked good before E3. E3 just expanded on it. Of the choices, Mario Kart 8 was the game of the show. And I'm as surprised as you are.

I was visiting with my sister about the new systems and how badly the X1 fell on its face over 2 days (reveal and E3). She was wishing for the older days when all you needed was a controller with 2 buttons and you felt like you could move worlds. It got me to thinking and since all she needs is to relive the old days of Mike Tysons Punchout and doesn't need a super complicated machine I will probably buy her a Ouya. It will be able to do Emus and all the old games she wants and she could get new simple games and she can use any controller she wants. I never thought that I would be buying a Ouya but yeah... I'm gonna end up buying a Ouya sometime in the future.

I'm kinda surprised at the lack of stories on GS. I understand e3 is taxing but really a 3 day weekend?
