Game Of Thrones Creators Working On New Star Wars Movie Series

This can only be a good thing, considering the current direction of Star Wars. These two can only do better than Rian Johnson's catastrophe.

Rian Johnson has never made anything worth remembering. Game of Thrones, meanwhile, is one of an elite few shows that highlight the pinnacle of the golden age of television.

It's baffling that people don't want to have an educated and intelligent discussion about the Confederacy and the Civil War but rather censor all evidence that it occurred, and one could argue that American symbols are just as racist as, if more so, than Confederate symbols, since many "racist" things happened under the American flag, as well.

I am excited about the prospect of this series but seriously Kathleen! Don’t you pay attention to anything. Hire George Martin who actually wrote GoT and not these 2 for-TV writers. The last season of GoT is trash compared to the previous ones. Rushed and unfinished.

would be cool if they developed the stories for the other side of the jedi, that is all the other major counsel members and their battles and rise to jedi master. completely separate means no cameos and nothing to do with the SW saga.

Han Solo comes out at the end of may, then dec 2019 is Ep9, and that's it for awhile. The third but as of now unannounced anthology film which only exists as rumors (Obi Wan?) will probably not happen. I also think Rian Johnson's trilogy won't see a starting release until 2021, 2020 if they start filming this year...maybe. And the game of thrones guys... let's say they start around the same time as Rian Johnson, let's run with a 2021 release, Rians trilogy could release the same way the current batch are...every second year so 2021-2023-2025. Game of thrones could release theirs 2022-2024-2026. By that time it's been about 7 years since ep 9, they announce Ep 10,11,12 starting 2030 which is enough time between saga films as that puts a total of 11 years between 9 and 10. Anyway this all just opinion, I could be wrong but i'll end my rant with, I liked The Last Jedi, i'm looking forward to Rian's own trilogy and intrigued by the game of throne guys coming into the Star Wars family.

Sick of hearing of Game of Thrones and sick of hearing of Star Wars.. People are too much like sheep these days, it's like they don't have their own brain and consider critics to be gods that know all. It's not like people don't have their own taste in films or anything right?.. oh wait.

Rian Johnson has single handily ruined Star Wars with his take on the last Jedi I would rather watch JAR play cards than watch anything he has ruined. How that guy gets paid I’ll never know

Am i the only one alive who is utterly sick to death of everything Star Wars? The udders on that poor cash cow must be bleeding by now.

For moment there I was happy, I thought they were getting rid of Rian Johnson. Oh well the third movie will be probably horrible as well. Hopefully these 2 game of thrones guys, will make them about the old republic.

Terrible, these guys are no talent hacks. Why would they put Rain Johnson in charge after a lot of people hated The Last Jedi. I mean The Last Jedi was so bad that Rain Johnson keeps going out of his way to defend the movie on his social media accounts.

I still remember that some time after The Revenge of the Sith, "it was said" (probably rumors at first) that a TV series for Star Wars would finally see the light of the day. Here we are so many years later with this official news.

That's what Star Wars always lacked of, in my opinion. A proper long term TV series set in the Star Wars universe (and away from the Skywalker saga, and maybe even away from its time period). For me, the best Star Wars stories outside of the all-time classic original Trilogy of movies are found within the Expended Universe of novels and even some games (KOTOR1, KOTOR2, The Force Unleashed, Shadows of the Empire, and some of the main three Chapters' respective story telling in the Old Republic campaigns).

If, finally, Star Wars can get a Star Trek-'esque' treatment on TV that will last at least 4 or 5 years then I do feel that it can only be for the best of the Star Wars name in general. Especially after the abomination that was The Last Jedi, and the flop that I totally feel the Han Solo movie will end up be. The only decent movie that came out of the Disney acquisition was Rogue One. And as soon as we go away from the Skywalker saga the much better the stories can be. The Skywalker saga ended with a movie called The Return of the Jedi, it was good closure and we really didn't need anything else, especially not set 30 freakin' years later with paper-thin info for the huge gap in between.

Overall, I say hell yeah, bring that Star Wars series on. I wouldn't say that we all "need" or "want" it. But ironically, I do think that Star Wars itself needs it for its own sake now more than ever before. And I mean... it's from the Game of Thrones guys. I'm sure and I hope that it will all surprise us for the best. Heck I'm even ready for a MUCH grittier approach on the franchise. Give us the REAL face of a conflict between the light and the dark, doesn't even need to be Jedi and Sith. Give me the political backstabbing and infiltration and espionage stories, give me the corruption and redemption stories. Give it all, and make it a piece of art. In all honesty I'm not sure if I'm actually "ready" for a Star Wars series, but deep down inside me especially after Episode 8 the one thing I want the most right now is to completely forget that it actually happened and to stay as far away as possible from that saga that never needed continuity in the first place.
