In addition to that, the 1.2 update will also introduce a range of downloadable EX Characters. These heroes are all drawn from other titles and retain their unique abilities. The first two to be announced are Gunvolt, of Azure Striker Gunvolt, and Ekoro from Gal Gun and the 8-bit Gunvolt offshoot, Mighty Gunvolt. Gunvolt and Ekoro will be coming to the title on May 4 and June 1, respectively. Every EX character will be free for players to download for the first two weeks following their release, after which they can be purchased for $2.

Blaster Master Zero's 1.2 update will be rolling out for both the Switch and 3DS versions of the game this Thursday. A demo of Blaster Master Zero will also be added to the eShop that day, letting players try out two of the game's stages.
