Free legendary Pokemon Celebi in Pokemon X and Y with Bank download
Nintendo giving away one of its rarest Pokemon with Pokemon Bank.
As part of today's Nintendo Direct, the publisher announced that it would be allowing Pokemon X and Y players to obtain legendary Pokemon Celebi by downloading the Pokemon Bank application from the Nintendo eShop.
Celebi has always been a event-only Pokemon, and was last distributed in the US at GameStop stores in early 2011. Those who use Pokemon Bank before September 30, 2014 will be able to obtain Celebi for free.
In the past, Celebi has been a psychic/grass type Pokemon--but could Nintendo rework this new Pokemon into its new Fairy type introduced in Pokemon X and Y?
Pokemon Bank will be released on December 27, and anyone who downloads the title before January 31, 2014 will receive a 30-day trial of the service for free. After that, the Pokemon Bank will cost $4.99/£4.49/€4.99 a year.
Pokemon Bank will let users store up to 3000 Pokemon in their own private cloud space, which does mean the application will require an Internet connection to use. The app also comes with Poke Transporter, which will allow users to bring their old Pokemon from Pokemon Black, White, Black 2, and White 2 into Pokemon X and Y.
