The recently released Storm Island DLC for Microsoft's racing game Forza Horizon 2, a substantial expansion that sells for $20 and introduced extreme weather and more, has caused something of a storm with fans. Players are reporting a number of issues with the Xbox One DLC, including crashes, as well as events failing to appear, among other problems.

Thankfully for fans, Microsoft on Friday acknowledged these problems and pledged to fix them. Forza Horizon 2 developer Turn 10 Studios writes on its forums that it launched an investigation into the Storm Island bugs, and is working on a patch that should clear up the issues.

The update, which is currently going through Microsoft's certification process, addresses the following bugs:

  • Car Meets not unlocking, resulting in access to Storm Island being blocked.
  • Game crashes each time the user booted the game into the Storm Island hub.
  • No new events appear after installing Storm Island.

The Forza Horizon 2 update should arrive sometime next week, Microsoft said.

"Thank you for your patience and understanding while we investigated the problems," the developer said. "Your feedback on the forums has been invaluable in helping to pinpoint the causes of these issues."

The Storm Island DLC is available only for the Xbox One edition of Forza Horizon 2, as Microsoft does not support the Xbox 360 version of the racer with new content.
