Fortnite servers have been taken offline for another round of maintenance, Epic Games has confirmed. The developer hasn't revealed how long the maintenance will last, but it's began at 1 AM PT / 4 AM ET / 9 AM BST and affects players on all platforms--PS4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch, and iOS. [Update] Maintenance has been completed and servers are live again, bringing a new set of Season 5 challenges to the game; here are the basketball hoop locations and where to search between an oasis, rock archway, and dinosaurs. The original story follows.

Beyond the start time, Epic hasn't shared any further details on tomorrow's maintenance, but these periods are typically followed by a new batch of content for Battle Royale mode. That will likewise be the case, as the second set of weekly challenges for Season 5 are slated to roll out on July 19.

Now Playing: Fortnite: Season 5's ATK Golf Cart In Action

While it remains to be seen what assortment of objectives players will have to take on this week, we do know that some of them will be open to everyone. Unlike previous seasons, Season 5 challenges are divided up into two categories: Free and Battle Pass. The former are available to all players, whether or not they've purchased the Battle Pass, while the latter are restricted only to those who have bought it.

As before, players have the entire season to complete all of Fortnite's weekly challenges, meaning there is still plenty of time to take on the Week 1 challenges, which include collecting floating Lightning Bolts and following a Risky Reels treasure map. You can see all of our Fortnite Season 5 coverage below.

Epic rolled out Fortnite's 5.0 content update earlier this week, which introduced new guns to both Battle Royale and Save the World modes. The former received the Submachine Gun (while the Tactical SMG was moved into the Vault), and the latter got the new high capacity Typewriter Assault Rifle.
