Epic Games has announced the next event for the battle royale game Fortnite. The Big Bang, as it's called, arrives in Fortnite on Saturday, December 2. The event will mark a "new beginning for Fortnite," Epic said in a blog post.

Fortnite's Big Bang event starts at 11 AM PT / 2 PM ET on December 2, and people can load in to the servers for the special event starting 30 minutes prior.

Very little is known about the event itself, but Epic warned that the Big Bang event has flashing lights. Those with a history of photosensitivity, seizure, loss of awareness, or other conditions linked to an epileptic condition, are advised to consult a doctor before entering. Epic added that people, even if they don't have a preexisting medical condition, still might experience "dizziness, seizures, epileptic seizures, or blackouts" during the Big Bang. Epic advised people to "immediately" stop playing Fortnite if they experience "any discomfort" during the event.

Epic also warned players that official Fortnite experiences created by Epic will be disabled at 9 AM PT / 12 PM ET on December 2 to prepare for the event. Creator-made experiences will remain online until downtime begins at 11:30 PM ET on December 2.

Dataminers have reportedly discovered that the Big Bang event will be Fortnite's largest-ever update in terms of file size. Additionally, files reportedly point to an event featuring the rapper Eminem, who may also join the game as a playable character. The leak also pointed to a Lego crossover, as well as "rhythm and racing" modes.

The Lego Group seemingly responded to Epic's Big Bang announcement with a teaser image of the famous Fortnite llama in Lego form.

GameSpot will report back with more info on The Big Bang as it's announced.

Fortnite recently reverted to the original Fortnite map as part of a throwback event. This proved to be massively popular, helping catapult Fortnite to its biggest player numbers ever.
