Live from Summer Games Fest, host Geoff Keighley introduced the first Flashback 2 trailer, showing off a sequel to the original 1992 game. The game retains a similar cinematic platforming style but does so with modernized visuals and new mechanics that obviously just weren't possible way back in 1992.

Check out the trailer for yourself and see if it gives you any flashbacks.

The original Flashback launched first on the Amiga, but over the past three decades has come to over a dozen platforms, including even modern consoles such as Switch, Xbox, and PlayStation. When publisher Microids revealed Flashback 2 was in production in May 2021, the team revealed that the original creator, Paul Cuisset, was returning to help bring it to life.

The game will once more focus on protagonist Conrad B. Hart in a saga that Cuisset said has been a long time coming. “Developing a sequel to Flashback is an idea I’ve had for a very long time. I can’t wait for players to discover the new adventures of Conrad B. Hart, a character created almost 30 years ago. With Microids, we are really aiming to please the fans of the original title while being appealing to any players with a weak spot for futuristic games.“

Flashback 2 is scheduled for "Winter 2022 on PC, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4, and Switch."
