Sega has released the first screenshots from World Series Baseball 2K2 for the Dreamcast. The game, which was shown at the recently concluded E3, will include complete fielder controls, enhanced pitching and batting systems, improved lineup management, player injuries, and online options. In the game's online mode, players will be able to compete head-to-head over SegaNet, with extensive chat options. The WSB game engine has been completely revamped--it was built from the ground up by the series' new developer, Visual Concepts.

World Series Baseball 2K2 is currently set for an August release. GameSpot will have more in the coming weeks.
