We take a brief look at SCi's futuristic third-person action game.

Comments

SCi has released a new image from its upcoming third-person action game, Titanium Angels. The game takes place in an alternate future, and it follows the story of four races forced into cooperation in their struggle for survival. Players assume the role of Carmen Blake, a bounty hunter who accepts a dangerous mission to assassinate a military dictator named Elegia Furie. Blake quickly jumps into a full assault on Furie's stronghold. Blake's initial assault is easily repelled by a large army, and she must infiltrate the enemy headquarters to complete her mission.

Titanium Angels will let players control two different characters, alternating between the two according to the situation. An experienced-based system will let the abilities and skills of both characters improve as the game progresses. The game's proprietary 3D engine includes a number of advanced features as well, providing for realistic curved surfaces and a dynamic level of detail that lets the game graphics scale according to the performance of the user's PC. In addition, the game features volumetric fog that will dissipate and reappear according to environmental changes, realistic shadowing, procedural geometry animation that supports morphing sequences, and an advanced physics system and skeletal models for realistic animation and rendering.

Titanium Angels is in development at UK-based Mobius Entertainment, and it is scheduled for release in late 2001. For more information, take a look at our in-depth preview of the PlayStation 2 version of the game.
