First look: Tenchu 3

Activision has released the first screenshots from Tenchu 3 for the Sony PlayStation 2. The game is currently very early in development, but it is known that the game's story will pick up at the conclusion of the original Tenchu--the second game in the series was actually a prequel. Tenchu 3 will include new motion-captured attacks, and the game's lead characters--Rikimaru and Ayame--will have an assortment of new weapons at their disposal. Specific graphical enhancements are also planned, including real-time weather and lighting effects.

Unlike the previous games, this third installment in the series will not be developed by Acquire. As reported previously, Osaka-based K2 LLC is currently developing the game. Activision has not announced a specific release date at this time.
