First look: Project Zero

Tecmo releases new screenshots from and information on its PS2 horror-adventure game.

Tecmo has released further information on Project Zero, its tentatively titled PlayStation 2 game. As reported, in the game, the lead character must capture spirits by using a camera. Essentially, the camera captures a spirit's image and eliminates it from existence. Several of these pictures, when viewed later, will have hidden clues that must be used to solve the game's mysteries. To warn the player of the impending appearance of spirits, the game will use a variety of environmental and audio clues. For example, clothes and curtains will flutter in the wind, or voices may be heard when spirits are nearby.

Project Zero will be released in winter 2001 for the Japanese PlayStation 2. A North American release date has not been announced at this time.
