Nintendo has also confirmed regular post-launch DLC in the form of new map packs, with the first map to be released on February 19. Maps can be bought individually or in packs. The date coincides with the launch of Fire Emblem Fates, which will have two versions available at release. Each version will retail for $40. Purchasing one allows players to buy a $20 digital version of the other.

Additionally, Nintendo will release a special edition of the game which includes all three Fire Emblem Fates titles on a single game card, an artbook, and a Nintendo 3DS XL pouch. This special edition will have a suggested retail price of $79.99.

Earlier today Nintendo revealed a Fire Emblem Fates themed New Nintendo 3DS XL console, which will launch on the same day as the game. The two versions of Fire Emblem Fates were first announced in November last year, during a Nintendo Direct presentation. For more on the games, check out GameSpot's preview.
