It's that time again for an intense GameSpot subscriber competition! Next week we'll be hosting Operation: Winter Invasion, a team-based single elimination online tournament for Call of Duty 2. Over the course of four days, sixteen 5-player teams will face off in matches of Search and Destroy. In Call of Duty 2's Search and Destroy mode one team attempts to plant a bomb and destroy one of two objectives while the opposing team defends. If you're wondering how GameSpot tournaments work, check out the video and results for Seismic Showdown, last month's Quake 4 event.

Now is the best time to let your friends know about the tournament! To be prepared when registration opens, it's a good idea to talk to your friends and plan to register for a team together. Registration for specific timeslots happens on a first-come, first served basis for all GameSpot subscribers, so be sure to decide on your preferred timeslot in advance and signup together. If you and your teammates spread out among too many timeslots it may cause you to lose your spot in the tournament.
