Final Fantasy 15 Gets It Own Full-Length Feature Film

Square Enix's Final Fantasy XV show is called Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV, and it has an impressive design pedigree.

Final Fantasy XV is getting its own full-length feature film, it was revealed at the Uncovered: Final Fantasy XV event in Los Angeles. You can watch the full event and read a recap of news from Uncovered: Final Fantasy right here.

Kingsglaive: Final Fantasy XV was directed by Takeshi Nozue, the co-director of Final Fantasy VII: Advent Children and longtime cinematic director at Square Enix. It will launch this summer via digital distribution, ahead of the full game's release, and be distributed by Sony Pictures.

Now Playing: Final Fantasy XV - Kingsglaive Trailer

The movie will features Aaron Paul (Breaking Bad), Lena Headey (Game of Thrones), and Sean Bean (The Lord of the Rings).

The events of the film take place within the story of Final Fantasy XV, and will prominently feature the characters of Lunafreya Nox Fleuret and King Regis. The story will begin directly after Noctis and his friends set out on their journey. The film will feature several crossover characters that also appear in the game, as well as a handful of new ones who won't be--including the film's main character, a soldier named Nyx.
