Activision air combat sim Fighter Squadron: The Screamin' Demons Over Europe is set to reach retail this week.

The game features 1940s fighters and bombers with damage models of up to 40 break points per plane, which Activision says increase the realism of the sim - and the "grim reality" of its combat. Players can opt to fly for American, English or German air forces in dogfight, strafing and bombing missions over Europe and North Africa. Players can change positions in-flight with the game's "hot switching" function, allowing them to move from pilot to gunner to bombardier to navigator and back again, or switch planes within a squadron mid-dogfight.

ParSoft Interactive developed the game for Activision.
