FFVIII PC Date Announced

Square Electronic Arts releases the shipping date of Final Fantasy VIII for the PC.

This morning, Square Electronic Arts announced that the PC version of Final Fantasy VIII will begin shipping on January 25, 2000. The game was originally released for the PlayStation in the US on September 9, 1999.

"We are very excited about the upcoming release of Final Fantasy VIII for the PC,'' said Jun Iwasaki, president of Square Electronic Arts. "Now PC players can enjoy the same addictive fun that their PlayStation counterparts experience, with the added benefit of even more stunning graphics and life-like gameplay."

In related news, on January 3, gamers will be able to download a playable version of Chocobo World, a new Windows desktop game, and a noninteractive demo that features the opening sequence of FFVIII. Additionally, Square EA will make two additional interactive demos available for download on January 25, the game's release date.
