TOKYO--In the latest issue of the weekly Jump magazine, Square Enix has revealed it will release Final Fantasy X-2: International + Last Mission in Japan. Essentially, the game will be an updated version of the English version of Final Fantasy X-2. Japanese subtitles will appear in the game.

Since the original Japanese release of Final Fantasy X-2 in March, changes in FF X-2: International + Last Mission include two new costume modes and an additional mission. The first costume mode, called Psychic'er, allows characters to use supernatural forces in battle. The second mode is based on the winning costume in a contest held by the publisher of FF X-2's official strategy guidebook "Final Fantasy X-2 Ultimania Omega." Details have not been revealed.

Final Fantasy X-2: International + Last Mission will have an additional mission--Last Mission--which takes place three months after the storyline of FF X-2. The objective of the mission is simply to reach the top of a tower. However, the mission limits the player to travel with a single character until a condition is met, and the player can use only those items found inside the tower. If the player has saved data, including a finished FF X-2 game, the mission will include storyline events. The mission can still be played if there is no saved data, but the storyline segments will be skipped.

Final Fantasy X-2: International + Last Mission is scheduled for release this winter, and the price is still to be determined.
