Fallout 3 & Oblivion double pack drops April 3

Bethesda bundling its 2006 and 2008 role-playing game hits on Xbox 360 and PC in North America for $30 and $20, respectively; PS3 version blocked.

Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls IV are set in vastly different worlds, but soon they will come together. Bethesda today announced the Fallout 3 & Oblivion Double Pack, due out in April for the Xbox 360 and PC.

Bethesda doubles down on RPG memories this April.
Bethesda doubles down on RPG memories this April.

Set for release in North America on April 3, the Xbox 360 version of the Fallout 3 & Oblivion Double Pack will retail for $30, while the PC iteration will set gamers back $20. Bethesda did not note if the bundled games include any of the downloadable content released for either game.

Though Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion shipped for the PlayStation 3, Bethesda did not mention plans to bring the double pack to that system. A statement from Bethesda provided to GameSpot says, "At present we are not being allowed to release it on PS3. We will continue to try to change that, and would release it if we are permitted."

"We want to release it for PS3," reads a follow-up statement sent to GameSpot.

As for the games in the pack, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion shipped in 2006, with Fallout 3 arriving in 2008. Each game won a strong critical reception upon release and later spawned Game of the Year editions. For more on the titles included in the double pack, check out GameSpot's reviews of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Fallout 3.

Maybe it should have been F3 with FNV? This is strange combination honestly.

@beeftaco3232 Anything dealing with magic is nerdy? Let me tell you, nerds like us built that computer you're using, programmed it's operating system and this website you're on. Plus, you gave Jak and Daxter a 8.0, a game centered around magic. If anyone here needs to do some growing up it's you, jackass.

@dj_pulserfan Maybe on Xbox you can, but on PC this is an awesome deal as this two games are at least $40 together on Steam.

@beeftaco3232 lolusrs? Blizzard makes great games, which by the way aren't all rpgs. Ever heard of Warcraft III and Starcraft 2. Plus, your calling me a kid. Sure, I am a kid. I'm only 16, yet you're the one acting like a child? Let me guess, you finally hit puberty and now you think you're the s*** and you can look down on so called "kids." Well, guess what, you're still a kid if that's the case. Even if you are technically an adult, you are a still a kid at heart because of the way you are acting.

DLC not included? At this point that makes this another weak collections re-released. Their PS3 ports have always been problematic, like only just now getting Skyrim to properly work. Again, not that it matters, as these look to be skeletal without including DLC. An especially cheap move considering their age.

No DLC included? Then there would be no point. They'd better get on to elaborating on that.

Wow. Do you know how many hours of your life these two games will suck away. That said, I envy anyone who hasn't played them and is going to pick this up.

"At present we are not being allowed to release it on PS3. We will continue to try to change that, and would release it if we are permitted." Which is Bethesda saying - We suck at putting our games on the PS3. We haven't yet figured out how to hire people who can program for PS3 thus we just make excuses like this one to cover up the fact that our games are super buggy when played on the PS3.

$20 is the price of Oblivion alone currently on steam. This is a pretty sweet deal.

@moviequest14 yeah that is the only reason that I can think why it isn't coming to the ps3 because M$ bribed them I can't see Sony stopping this and from the way it sounds like it might be a timed exclusive and if it is M$ it is a stupid moved it is not like we can't go out and buy those games separately

Has anyone considered that maybe Sony is not allowing this until Bethesda fixes the problems that they knew about upon release of Skyrim? Just food for thought.

No PS3 release? I personally would never play a Bethesda game on consoles, but why?? Whatever, it's a good deal. Awesome games. Expect a Skyrim/ New Vegas deal in the coming years.

@shadowhunter0 Thats why i said getting the GOTY separate would be the smartest thing to do an it would be 50.. oblivion's 20 new , and fallout 3's 30 new ( I thought fo3 was also 20 by now), so 50$ for both goty, verses 30 for the regulars

"At present we are not being allowed to release it on PS3. Oh yeah...I understand now..it is quite a challenge putting 2 games that are already on ps3 in a box together and selling them.........

@ELEMENTZERO707 but you have people like me who wont buy used games because when you buy a used game you are giving all the money to the place where you bought ie gamestop instead giving it to the devs because devs don't make any money off a of used games

A combo GOTY edition might be worth a look, but who wants a double pack of 4 and 6 year old games? If you wanted either you have had loads of opportunity to get them.

@Zero5000X Its actually smarter for them and for the customer to pack it with the opposite world setting. since a elder scrolls player might not give fallout 3 a chance despite them being very similar due to the scifi setting. Yet buy the pack try it out and find that hes suddenly a new fan of fallout .

Unless its the GOTY of both, its not worth it, considering oblivion and fallout 3 (and new vegas for that matter) are 10 bucks or so at gamestop (used), and the GOTY are about 20. Your either paying 10 bucks to much, or could pay 10 bucks extra and get the full collection of both.

I'll make my own double pack. I'll put both my disks inside a 2 disc case and make my own cover and put it in the sleeve. there you go double pack. I guess if you have never had the pleasure to play these 2 terrific games then maybe you shouldn't miss out this time, other than that they just want to 2 face us.

@Falmar While I don't recommend it, if you've already paid full price for the game then just download it (illegally). Normally, having a 360 version doesn't mean you can just pirate all the other versions but you literally have no way to play a game you've already bought... Might pick this up later this year. More for Oblivion than for Fallout, but for $20 who am I to complain?
