Fallout 3 & Oblivion double pack drops April 3

Bethesda bundling its 2006 and 2008 role-playing game hits on Xbox 360 and PC in North America for $30 and $20, respectively; PS3 version blocked.

Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls IV are set in vastly different worlds, but soon they will come together. Bethesda today announced the Fallout 3 & Oblivion Double Pack, due out in April for the Xbox 360 and PC.

Bethesda doubles down on RPG memories this April.
Bethesda doubles down on RPG memories this April.

Set for release in North America on April 3, the Xbox 360 version of the Fallout 3 & Oblivion Double Pack will retail for $30, while the PC iteration will set gamers back $20. Bethesda did not note if the bundled games include any of the downloadable content released for either game.

Though Fallout 3 and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion shipped for the PlayStation 3, Bethesda did not mention plans to bring the double pack to that system. A statement from Bethesda provided to GameSpot says, "At present we are not being allowed to release it on PS3. We will continue to try to change that, and would release it if we are permitted."

"We want to release it for PS3," reads a follow-up statement sent to GameSpot.

As for the games in the pack, The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion shipped in 2006, with Fallout 3 arriving in 2008. Each game won a strong critical reception upon release and later spawned Game of the Year editions. For more on the titles included in the double pack, check out GameSpot's reviews of The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion and Fallout 3.

@SolidWooper - Actually both games work just fine on Windows 7 (32/64). Even ElderScrolls 3 Morrowind GOTY works flawlessly without tweaking on Windows 7 32/64.

@Gunmaster51 @supertom221 @PS3BigFan To be honest guys when I play games on my PS3 I want to have Thropy support and when I play games on PC I don't really care although achievments or in-game achievments like Mass Effect 1 has that also give you bonuses were nice... But I think that Bethesda should really make a Thropy update for Oblivion...It would please the fans more at least...

@zzamaro It's the peoples right to thumb you down if they want... We are not entitled to like your opiniona s you are not entitled to like ours so if we don't agree we thumb you down... As you can do to us or those you don't agree with... Just because you said "Now people will give me thumbs down for just giving my opinion." it won't get you out of thumbs down... Thumbs down are not given by hate but by dissagreement... I believe only a hypocrite would've said that...

Skyrim did succeed in gaining new fans, just like Oblivion did before it. Fallout 3 and Oblivion both offer similar gameplay which would be new to them. They also haven't aged beyond playability like my personal favorite game ever Morrowind. So such a package makes sense, as long as they don't expect to sell a million copies.

@PS3BigFan I'm a big fan of trophies. To me they offer an increase in the game's value and also push me to play a game in different ways. But they shouldn't be deal breakers. Anyone who won't play Oblivion because it doesn't have trophies clearly has issues lol.

@supertom221 yeah thats what I was implying. Maybe Sony wants Oblivion updated with trophy support before they allow it to be re-released.

@Gunmaster51 still I don't understand why Trophies is so important for Sony. I mean they're good reason to keep playing the games but they're not that special thing. Every time I hear someone talking about having trophies I think that I'm missing something, like that you can trade Trophies for PSN credits.

@Philly1UPer True. Without Shivering Isles, Broken Steel and Mothership Zeta, it's better to get them seperately.

@Gunmaster51 Unlikely. PS3 had a good number of PS2 classic HD releases with trophy support, and previously trophy lacking games got an update. It's more to it than that.

Great deal for people who haven't bought the game yet but then again i'd rather buy the GOTY editions than this, it's a little more expensive but it's worth it.

Doesn't seem to be a good deal. I never understood the love for those game. I remember I received Oblivion as a gift for the X360 years ago, but the game wasn't that great. Didn't really get my attention. Now people will give me thumbs down for just giving my opinion.

I read somewhere that Sony is no longer allowing releases without trophy support. Maybe thats why Oblivion was blocked.

Why don't they add trophy support for Oblivion? That's probably why Sony doesn't allow it.

@SolidWooper I suggest you buy a new computer and retire that ten year old Compaq, because both those games work on Windows 7 perfectly.

If you don't already own both of these games already, and you don't get this, then you cannot call yourself a gamer. These are probably two of the best games of last decade.

I don't understand why they release it for the PC instead of the PS3. I mean its already on steam+ its not hard to pirate the game considering its only singleplayer.......

Better off buying the GOTY editions separately if you can still find them. This isn't worth $30, in my opinion.

Just going on the packaging (if that is indeed the packaging they're using) they look like the regular editions. Most people already have these games in their full editions, but there's always people who don't, but I can't imagine they'll make much money from this since they're no doubt in the minority. For PC, you can get the goty/deluxe version of Oblivion and Fallout3 goty cheaper than the price of this bundle during the right Christmas or other frequent Steam sale.* I did like Fallout3GOTY better than NV (I'm not into western themes, yes I know that's the franchises' roots), and I replay Morrowind GOTY way more often than Oblivion's GOTY. An ElderScrolls bundle might be nice 1-5 for the people that haven't played Arena and Daggerfall (also include Redguard and Battlespire) that would be an awesome bundle:)

How bizarre. The two games have been in a double pack for ages here in Germany, although only in their basic versions. The GOTY versions of each of the games are available for 10 euros each.

@beeftaco It must suck waking up everyday knowing that even that pile of dog dropping you see on the sidewalk has more value to the Human Species than you do. If I was as worthless as you, I'd seek attention on the Internet too.

Both amazing games and amazing prices, yet it doesn't say if they come with the DLC or not and honestly they aren't worth it then. Just buy the game of the year versions or "ultimate" versions probably the same price as this bundle.
