No Caption Provided Lionhead's newly launched Fable III landed first place in the sales chart for the week ending October 30, with FIFA 11 in second and Fallout: New Vegas--last week's number one--dropping into third. Star Wars: The Force Unleashed II, WWE SmackDown vs. Raw 2011, and The Sims 3, the three other new entries in the top 10, arrive at numbers five, seven, and nine respectively.

Bad news for MTV Games, though: Rock Band 3, also released last Friday, hasn't broken the top 20; it made its chart debut at number 26, despite positive reviews. Though sales of this third major iteration in the music game series, particularly of hardware bundles including the new instruments, may pick up towards Christmas, the lukewarm reception in its opening week contrasts with Green Day: Rock Band, which entered the chart in June at number 14, and The Beatles: Rock Band, which debuted at number four in September 2009.
