Turtle Rock Studios and 2K today announced details surrounding the fourth playable monster in upcoming co-operative shooter Evolve. As voted by the community, the monster is aptly named Behemoth and will be available "this Spring." Behemoth is a towering rock monster who can transform into a vast boulder and roll around the environment as a means of travelling quickly.

Evolve Season Pass and Deluxe Edition Details

Publisher 2K also detailed the Evolve Hunting Season Pass, which will allow immediate access to three Monster skins when the game ships on February 10. This season pass will also grant players access to four new Hunters when they are released later in Spring as DLC. The Hunters will be available to purchase separately outside of the Hunting Season Pass for $7.49 each.

The Digital Deluxe Edition includes a copy of Evolve and the Hunting Season Pass. Players who pre-purchase either the regular or the Deluxe versions will receive the Monster Expansion Pack for free, which includes Behemoth. Alternatively, Behemoth can also be purchased separately for $14.99.

PC Monster Race Edition

Meanwhile, 2K Games also revealed the Evolve PC Monster Race Edition, which includes the main game as well as the Hunting Season Pass, a fifth unannounced playable monster, two additional Hunters, and four Monster skins that will will be timed exclusives for 30 days. Those who pre-purchase the PC Monster Race Edition will also receive Behemoth and the Savage Goliath Skin when they are released.

Xbox One Pre-Order Promotion

The Evolve Digital Deluxe Edition is currently available for digital pre-purchase on Xbox One and PC, and will be "available soon" for the PS4.

Xbox One owners who digitally pre-purchase the game can pre-load from today, as well as access the Xbox One Evolve Open Beta. Pre-purchasing the game on Xbox One will grant an instant unlock of the Wraith Monster and third tier of Hunters, which can be used during the open beta and at launch. Pre-purchasing on Xbox One will also grant access to the Monster Expansion pack for free.

What a ripoff! The DLC (and season pass) is just lame - one extra monster and 4 extra hunters which should probably be in the original game anyway!


And now ever purchasing the season pass isn't enough. Now there is more crappy DLC to buy even though there is a season pass. WTF?!? All season pass and DLC crap should be banned by law and made obligatory free game update or developers/game studios should invest more time and money and develop quality expansions which should be sold at 1/2 or 1/3 of original game price. No wonder gaming industry is going to hell and piracy is on the rise with such ripoff deals.


And anouncing DLCs and season passes before the game isn't even out, and they already know what will be in those crappy additions is just LAME.

Atleast the map packs are free. And if you don't choose to buy the season pass you can still play with your friends who do buy them or the other people online who do. So atleast you dont get alienated to bad. Be kind of nice seeing them in action going against them or playing along side the new hunters with out having to pay for it. The price still ridiculous lol

The prices seem very fair to me for adding content that drastically changes how you play the game. All monsters have different map traversal methods and abilites, while hunters have different weapons and gear (save for the class shared ability). You're getting maps for free as opposed to paying out the wazoo for a handful of maps hat don't change anything about the game in a meaningful way (like CoD or Battlefield).

If you dont pre-order game you have to pay 15$ for 1 monster. Even if this game is a 10 out 10 I wont be touching this scandalous scam....

Too much corporate greed stench emanating from this title. I was somewhat looking forward to this game cause I loved Left 4 Dead on the 360. But I don't care for the business model associated with this game anymore. I'll be playing Dying Light and the Order on the ps4 so I'll have plenty of dark, gory gaming to keep me happy. And Blood borne in March. I'll pass on Evolve till spring or summer.

I didn't care about the game when it was announced, didn't care after watching the trailers, cared even less after playing the underwhelming alpha, and now I think I'll pick it up for $20 a year or two from now during a Steam sale

TRS is probably not too happy about this DLC plan as well, but they are less than 4 weeks away from release. Unless they want all their hard work to be scrapped, and lose all the money they spent making the game, they have to stick with it now.

Good GOD they are milking the allmighty heck outta this game...

I was excited for this game even played the beta weekends, but now no I don't have the same excitement seeing how much they are trying to gouge everyone for things...

All I can think of when I read this was

"Oh joy I'm glad to know they put in pay to skip past the grind DLC that means the grinds going to be hellish to incentivize the payment plan... what joy!"

I swear this dev's doing it's best to take an interesting concept and kill it as something I'd like to play.

Actually, if you did your homework (something I think your teachers would all agree you didn't do), you only unlock Teir 3 hunters and monster... that's it! No Teir 2 characters, no upgrades to the weapons and abilities (which you upgrade by using them on opponents to make them stronger with incremental boosts like more ammo/% damage increase/cool down % off etc), that's it. Still gonna have to grind and play to fully kit out characters and perks.

Also, all maps are free (how much does CoD, Titanfall, and Battlefield charge for 2 or 3 maps that do nothing to change the gameplay in any significant way?). The monsters and hunters will cost DLC prices is because they will all play with different abilities and weapons that will make you have to change your game playing strategies.

So what I am basically saying to you and all the other folks like you who are whining like the little spoiled brats you are showing yourselves to be: stop being such elitist tw@s, stop being vintriloquist dummys (aka pull the stick out), and do your research about a subject to avoid such embarrassing cases of foot-in-mouth syndrome.

Therefore what they are charging for those 3 characters is what half a game normaly cost. I have no idea how you came to the conclusion that I meant 3 characters are half a games content... If you are still confused by this, I suggest you take summerclasses.
