Vivendi Universal has announced that its PC strategy game Evil Genius has gone gold and will ship to stores four days earlier than previously announced. The "T" for Teen-rated game can be picked up worldwide September 28 at a retail price of $49.99.

Developed by UK developer Elixir Studios, Evil Genius casts players as a villain in the style of '60s spy movies--but with a humorous twist. In their quests for world domination, players will have to construct secret island lairs while battling spies, recruiting henchmen, and building secret superweapons.

VU will also release a demo of Evil Genius on August 30. Details on the demo are forthcoming. In the meantime, more information on Evil Genius can be found in GameSpot's full preview.
