come on this will never happen, at this point HL 3 has become a cult of some sort, but we know valve doesn't need to release the game anyhow and they've put it behind their back, with the games they have now I'm pretty sure they're doing quite well and having come to this point it makes me say this, why would they need to work on such a dangerous game when they already have evrything they need, why should they dirty their hands and risk getting bitten by the rapid dogs for almost nothing, so unless valve becomes sadistic, this will never happen

I think even Valve doesn't know what to do for a Half Life 3 game, I mean, with so much expectation and fake hype (because the game hasn't ever been announced) they can screw it up in epic proportions and be hated for the rest of their lives or become beloved and idolized when they finally announce it, this double edged weapon called Half Life 3 would require a lot of planning and an almost flawless execution (programming). I'm pretty sure Valve just doesn't feel like they would be able to pull off something like that.

Meanwhile, I stopped caring about these "IS IT REVEALED!!??" news since years ago, if they announce it I will be happy because I loved the hell out of the first 2 games and their expansions, but if they don't announce it ever (which seems most likely, given Valve's trend to stop all sequels after "2") it's like: well, bad luck. There are lot of games which should have sequels but they didn't and are now forgotten.

Gabe said like last year that they weren't even working on it right now, they were in the past and it got scrapped.

So even if this was some sort of tease, HL3 wont be out for 3 years at least, probably even more with Valve Time.

Again - who cares? No one.

Literally the only people who care about HL3 are people who never heard of Valve or Half-Life until 2004 and didn't play the original game in 1998 when it came out. The rest of us never cared about the game much in the first place other than its everlasting engine, which was the second coming of Jebus for PC gaming, same with the Source.

If Valve wants VR to be a hit they need to make HL3 for it and exclusive to Steam.

Valve can't count past 2. They stop everything at two. Think about it. HL2, ep2, portal 2, left 4 dead 2, "dota 3 doesn't make sense", team fortress 2, day of defeat 2, counter strike 2... It's insane.

Half-Life 3 will require you to play an elderly, wheelchair-bound Gordon Freeman as he navigates the ever-increasingly handicapped unfriendly streets of City 17 to reach the Social Security office to pick up his check.

IS IT REALLY happening HL3 is coming ....

HL2 changed the game for FPS SP games.

Until Valve comes something that could be that influential, there's zero reason for them to assume the risk of a possible dud in HL3.

Come on guys. Let's put down that torch we've all been carrying for HL3. Stop getting super excited every time someone "finds" and email about it, stop expecting it at every E3. We're only hurting ourselves. She's gone man, and she's never coming back.

I haven't heard a plausible explanation for the content of those text files in DOTA 2 that doesn't involve Valve developing Half Life 3. So... ITS CONFIRMED!!

HL3 and L4D 3 are in development. Look closely. HL3 & L4D 3 in development using new Source engine..

Stop trolling us, Valve! It's not funny any more. It's downright tragic. Of course Valve doesn't owe anything to Half-Life fans, but would it be so hard to at least release a graphic novel or something to wrap up the story? Because I'm pretty sure HL-3 is vapourware (although it was never announced).

valve doesn't give a damn about you or your hl3 dreams... get over it. valve is so far gone from being the developer they once were that they likely wouldn't even get their hands dirty with hl3 and would instead outsource it to turtle rock. how could a sequel even remotely live up to your expectations? even an above average game would result in bitter disappointment and resentment from the community. you know this. i know this. valve knows this. why bother?
