With the holidays around the corner, now's the time to start thinking about gifts for the gamer in your life. If you're shopping for someone who loves retro gaming, the Super Pocket is an affordable option that could fit the bill. Created by the team behind the cartridge-based Evercade EXP handheld and Evercade VS home console, the Super Pocket releases November 14. Two versions of the Super Pocket will be available at launch--one with 19 Taito games and another with 12 Capcom titles--each of which supports Evercade games and sports a unique design. The Capcom Super Pocket and Taito Super Pocket are available to preorder now for $60 each at Amazon and Best Buy.

Aside from the game selection and color differences, both Super Pocket Models sport identical specs, including a 2.8-inch IPS screen with a D-Pad, six face buttons, and four rear triggers for controls, plus a slot for the Evercade cartridge library (more than 45 carts so far) so you can play even more games on the go. They also feature a four-hour battery life and support fast charging via USB-C. The two Super Pocket models are licensed by Taito and Capcom, respectively.

There are also limited-edition "crystal color" versions at Funstock for roughly $145.

If you like the idea of cartridge-based retro gaming but want something a bit more on the premium side, the Evercade EXP handheld is available for $127.49 at Amazon (down from $150). Alternatively, you can pick up the home console Evercade VS for as little as $100.
