Paradox Entertainment has announced that it has reached an agreement with Virtual Programming to convert the historical strategy game Europa Universalis II to the Macintosh platform. The companies expect the game to be complete in time for the holiday season, although no North American publisher has been announced.

Europa Universalis II was released for the PC in November. It features a number of improvements on its predecessor, including new features, new player nations, and a broader period of history. Players begin the game in 1419 as the ruler of a nation, and they lead their nation through 400 years of history until the fall of Napoleon.
