Sierra and Stainless Studios announced today that they are holding a contest for the epic real-time strategy game Empire Earth. The companies will select three winners from the entries received through the Empire Earth Web site. Each winner will receive a $500 gift certificate to Best Buy, as well as a three-day all-expenses paid trip to Stainless Steel headquarters in Cambridge, Mass., to play Empire Earth. Stainless Studios has also invited 27 real-time strategy fans who have won various contests to help refine the game before its summer 2001 release.

Empire Earth spans 500,000 years of human history, and during that time, players control a budding civilization that starts out with the discovery of simple things like fire but eventually moves onto more substantial forms of technology like lasers.
