Eight Xbox One controllers can be synced at once

This is stupid.. 8 controllers connected doesn't make it next gen.. 4 controllers is more than enough.

I just left the Sony article about their 4 controllers it was hilarious people come up with the dumbest reasons as to why any system is superior at any rate controller count doesn't mean much to me I think 8 controllers is cool for sports games during big parties or whatever but either way i'll personally only need 2 on each system....maybe 3...always need a back up in case one breaks :)

I think Microsoft should have made XB1 backwards compatible with XB360 controllers and knocked $60 off the price. Neither XB1 nor PS4 is backwards compatible for games, so a good enticement to keep me on Xbox would've been not having to buy new controllers all over again! I have 4 XB360 controllers, so that would've saved me $240... easy choice to re-up with Xbox for every XB360 owner! I don't think MS enhanced the controllers enough to force me to buy new ones... essentially all they did was rename the Back and Start buttons plus minor marketing BS (ergonomics and rumble crap)... not worth $60... should've been optional purchase, not mandatory for loyal XB360 owners! I think PS4 can actually justify forcing PS3 owners to buy new controllers since it adds a trackpad and integrates motion gaming. No backwards compatible software or hardware means there's nothing to stop me (or make me hesitate) from switching over to Playstation for next gen. Major strategic mistake for MS. Agree?

You companies can't even make 2-player games anymore.

WHY should I give a shit that you can plug in 8 of these? PS3 did 7 and we all saw how pointless that became.

8 Controllers? Im lucky if I am ever in a position where I use 2 controllers at once.

This will be a feature that will be utilized in like 2 or maybe 3 games within the next 5 years and they will all suck.

Who cares, when do people ever use more than 2 at once except Mario Kart or Smash Bros on Nintendo consoles or something like that.

That's not enough for a full team in a football game... And since most other games go with online for any sort of multiplayer, while even forgoing any sort of local multiplayer, it seems slightly pointless... But congrats on making something stupid to brag about.

I just preordered my Xbox One and will be buying a second controller for my brother to use. It's kool that it is possible to have 8 controllers. You never know what can be done with it.

Now that's the best selling point that Microsoft has come up with yet. Umm, yea right!

I don't care how many controllers can connect unless the feature is used. I can't think of any games that weren't sports games that used the 7 controller feature on PS3...and I doubt it'll be different here. Just give me one controller and I'll be happy :).

I want to put my Xbone 30 ft away from where I'm playing and my TV so I don't get made fun of by my friends who bought a PS4.

So they can cut the shipments in half for the war veterans. Now 8 ppl have to share one XBONE.

why is more then 2 controller needed anyway? greedy devs don't make 4 player split screen anymore, they prefer it to be 2 max per console meaning you need to buy 2 games if you wanna play 4 player...

Lol for what purpose? There aren't going to be 8-player games, so why waste technology development on connecting 8 controllers? Seriously MSFT....how about you spend time and development creating a console that doesn't suck? Back-pedaled on everything else, so I'm still waiting for a Kinect-free bundle. Do that MSFT, and see your preorder numbers soar. Nobody wants Kinect (save maybe a few complete morons who are too lazy to change the channel with their fingers), so get rid of it. Consumers don't like being forced to buy things they don't want to get something they do want.

The only games this many controllers actually work for are sports games. Playing 4 player co-op is bad enough with the tiny screens, but 8? That would be horrible.

what happen to being able to play fps offline with friends that's something i'd love to see dem brang back and with xbox 1 being able to synce 8 payers at once man Call of duty or bf4 would be tons of fun online and offline
