Electronic Arts has today announced that it will distribute Koei's Samurai Warriors in Europe. Currently scheduled for European release in June, the tactical action game is set in Feudal Japan and sees players assuming the role of Yukimura Sanada, the leader of an elite band of samurai and ninja. Samurai Warriors is already available in Japan and is scheduled for release in North America in May.

"Samurai Warriors has sold a million copies in Japan within a month after its launch this February," said Kiyoshi Komatsu, president and COO of Koei. "As a result of this European distribution partnership with EA, Koei will establish Samurai Warriors in Europe as a premier action game brand, following our tactical action series Dynasty Warriors, which has achieved sales totaling nearly 7 million units worldwide."
