EA's "weird" shooter Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare hits PC June 24

The PC version of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare--PopCap Games' "weird" shooter--will launch on June 24, publisher Electronic Arts announced today. The game will be available through Origin and other retailers, the company said.

Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare originally launched for Xbox 360 and Xbox One in February and EA just recently announced that microtransactions are coming to the game starting this week.

The standard $30 PC version of Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare includes the main game and the previously released Garden Variety and Zomboss Down DLC. You can also buy a $35 digital deluxe version (exclusive to Origin) that includes 80,000 in-game coins and a custom accessories pack, as well as two preorder packs if you decide to reserve the game early.

EA has not yet disclosed the PC requirements for Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, so you'll need to wait a little while longer to find out if your rig is beefy enough to run it. For more on Plants vs. Zombies: Garden Warfare, check out GameSpot's review.

Guys, PvZ2 was free. So they are trying to make some more money with the franchise. I am going to see it as a way to easier troll cheap players online. LOL, I am better because I have the better gun and I am going to make sure you know it. Laughing at this alone justifies the price.

I love this game, However right now, it seems that the zombies have more powerful weapons , specifically the foot soldier and the football player.

<< LINK REMOVED >> Peashooter is no slouch. With sprint + beanbomb and the gattling, I find I can usually take on both footsoldiers and football players no problem. The 25hp damage means usually 4 solid hits for a kill.

I play almost every popular shooter out there and I'm usually at the top of the leaderboards. With this game, I can rule with the zombies, with the plants I'm at the lower middle. I also have serveral friends that are playing it and we can all see its not balanced right now.

<< LINK REMOVED >><< LINK REMOVED >>It's not hard to peg someone on a rooftop from across the map with the peashooter. Drop is negligable. And once you are gettin ghit by the footsoldier, it's easy to step aside with time to spare. One shot from a pea and you are already hurting.


I find it balanced, is all.

You can definitely tell who has played the game and who is just running along with the hate train by the focus of one's post.

As for the "hate anything with micros" crowd, it's a growing trend which will keep on growing.

Sony (the most beloved and cherished company based on net reaction to various articles) is proudly championing that too. They have several f2p games that make money from micros and are making more (like h1z1).

As long as micros are done right, it hurts no gamer and benefits the company, no one loses.

PvZ's gameplay and competitive field will not be shaken by micros. Those who have played it know this.

Fantastic game, hope PC guys enjoy it, though I'm sure they will. Didn't realize how much my library needed a light-hearted shooter until I had it. Definitely a welcomed change of pace. Still playing this game every day, surprisingly deep and addictive. Not to mention that I clean up (flowers)
