The announcement of the Final Fantasy VII Remake was one of the best moments in E3 history. I'm so fucking excited for this game (I'm replaying the original right now). *Takes a deep breath* That just felt really good...

I think E3 was great this year. I really didn't expect stuff like a new South Park game, The Last Guardian, and (of course) a Final Fantasy VII Remake... plus some really cool new IPs, like Horizon Zero Dawn... and the new Tomb Raider looks awesome too. I love it.

What a season... for VIDEO GAMES! #GetFuckedBoi #THEHOOPGAWD

I thought bethesda did the best job, with an exciting show, Doom looked great, fallout was solid, and dishonored 2 was something people wanted, and fallout ios game was a big surprise. nintendo did the worst, looks like they're about done with wii U, probably further along on the NX than we think, maybe pulling a twilight princess and releasing the new zelda on NX and Wii u? I was excited about the new star fox but after seeing it I'm not anymore, mario maker looks awesome though, the new metroid and zelda games look crappy, so we'll see, Wish they had a big time Wii U title to show

Who won E3? Marketing Corporations.

Who lost at E3? Fans of Console Gaming.

So it's just business as usual, nothing has changed for the better as far as I can see. The only thing that came close was the Xbox backwards compatible app but sadly it's arrival is a wee tad too late, still useful but not as useful as it would've been 18 months ago.

I'm just as sceptical and cynical now as I was before the show. I thought I was alone with this attitude but then I saw this guy Super BunnyHop's video and some faith in the human race was restored.

@punksterdaddy ok, watched the video you posted and if you are like the guy who made the video, you both are coming off as pessimistic doldrums that probably need to stop playing and following games and the industry altogether: there was a lot to be excited for at this years E3 if you are a fan of gaming. Fallout 4, uncharted 4, doom, the division, star wars battlefront, just cause 3, Rise of the Tomb Raider, Metal Gear Solid V: The Phantom Pain, the new IP : Horizon: Zero Dawn, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon: Wildlands, Dishonored 2, Hitman, ...to name a few.

if you are talking about innovation in the industry, then maybe you need to get together with the guy in the video, form your own development company, and try to come up with the innovation that you want since you both seem to think its easy to do. instead of whining and complaining about it. The backwards compatibility in the new consoles isnt easy tech to accomplish since you are trying to make games from one type of old architecture made almost a decade ago, to play on a totally different type of new architecture, if it was easy to do, it would have been with both the PS4 and the xbox1 18 months ago when they launched. Im skeptical of the hololense and VR as well, but im willing to give it a shot and see if they can pull it off before totally dismissing these concepts before they are even launched and perfected. well, i hope you find to good in the industry one day instead of looking for and expecting the bad. maybe one day you will be a happier person :)

@ricku1967:

How can you claim to have watched the video and come to these conclusions?

Nobody is talking about not being happy about the games that were on show, yes they are worth getting excited about.

I was and still am sceptical about the whole E3 fluff that comes with those games. I mean they could show off the games themselves but no they always have to talk b0ll0cks and hype up things beyond the point of believability and they do not need to do it!

Last year they seemed to make a better effort to streamline the whole E3 show and it was better for it, but nah that wasn't good enough, they had to turn the BS up to eleven and it is off-putting.

Finally how can you make ANY comments on how much I am or am not happy because I don't want to conform to apparently YOUR ideas as to what makes people happy, which is to bathe in all the sh*te these people are shovelling? You could've just commented on the video and what I had said but you went on to make assumptions because I don't believe these people's hype... Are you serious? Well never mind.

Almost every E3 has been about Lies/Marketing and then more Lies on top for good measure, what makes this one so different than all the rest? They happened to show some content to get people excited, is that it, is that really all it takes for you?

I've said this already but I'll say it again, this is why Gamers keep getting stung, they see a well marketed video, orgasm and begin throwing money at these companies.

There seems to be no room for any middle ground any more, it's either you are so excited to the point you have to have to be seen as such, where you will only be disappointed when things do finally come out as expectancy is so high. Then there is opposite where you are labelled for being a downer for being cynical at what we will actually be getting and how dare anybody be anything other than hyped to the max.

I'm neither of those extremes, I am chuffed at the games announced but sceptical enough to know that these things have burned many of us in the past when they failed to deliver. It doesn't mean I am dismissing anything.

My happiness has nothing to do with it and me thinking that it is easy to make games is untrue, irrelevant and pointless to this discussion.

@punksterdaddy: Most of the people in the "middle ground" dont open their yaps and start bashing things just because they have been burned by past e3 news. For me personally there was maybe 3 things from e3 i truely look forward to. BC, Halolense, and Windows 10 interface with streaming to other windows 10 devices beyond that nothing really excited me the games look great in their million dollar advertisements as they should

My take on e3 is more of a "where are we going, what are the possibilities" to see Nintendo and Microsoft putting out a large number of games this year and not 2-4 years from now shows they are really picking up steam with current generations. While the playstation games have great hype they wont be delivered for some time. I personally dont rate an E3 on just games because there are many aspects to games that make them either enjoyable or just boring. New features and technology is what e3 should really be about innovation for the industry as a whole not whos game looks best that war should go on elsewhere in my opinion.

For reasons i already mentioned Microsoft came away the clear winner with the most innovating features and technology presented at e3. Another thing i noticed that people at gamespot overlooked is that the developers are learning to properly use the xbox one e.g. Forza at 1080 60fps so clearly if a fast moving racing game can do it so can every other game out there its all about making good use of the hardware and not just getting by like most developers do. My $0.02

@punksterdaddy: nah I don't think so. Backwards compatibility is perfect timing for Xbox one. Microsoft is going to selling millions more due to that feature now. Which by the way there's another 5 years left in Xbox ones life cycle.

And who really gives a damn what some basement dwelling Youtuber no life has to say anyway?

@fig56:

I don't care how much more millions MS make and it is a wee bit too late because although it's good that they are now implementing it, if they weren't so greedy in the first place it would have been much nicer of a feature at launch.

A common argument on here defending the no backwards compatible is, "Forget last gen, it's dead and nobody plays them now anyway." And now suddenly MS reveal this feature, that would have been far more useful 18 months ago, it's now the greatest thing since sliced bread?

As far as I know he has a full time job on top of what he does on You Tube and I CARE what he has to say. People may actually learn something from it. So it's just the same schtick as usual from these companies at E3 and because he is not on the hype train like everyone else, you don't want to hear what he has to say?

I'm not saying you have to, it's just your attitude in that last sentence sums up pretty well my thoughts on why Gamers keep getting stung.

@punksterdaddy: Greed? Dude, their job is to make money. They are a Fortune 500 company with investors and shareholders they have to answer to.

It's up to you the consumer to decide what you want to spend your money on. Nobody is going into your wallet late at night and buying Microsft products are they?

As far as your YouTube hero is concerned, I understand that you might care what he has to say but what good are words if there is no action behind them? Everybody wants to talk but nobody wants to do anything about it. Sit behind a computer monitor and just speak for the sake of a view on YouTube?

Now there is your GREED.

Yes Greeeeed! So you agreed with their DRM policies that they tried to force on us among other things. That was to what I was referring. You are not making any valid points and I can't be arsed with this attacking behaviour from the likes of you. It is predictable and repetitive already on this site, you are no exception.

Obviously they are to make money but I wasn't talking about that I was talking about their greed. Funny you just saw greed and flipped your sh*t. I get the feeling you didn't read properly... AGAIN!

Your point is talking about earning money, which I have no problem with. Greed is a different thing entirely. This sh*te should be obvious without the need to point it out.

He is not my hero, he is somebody I watched on You Tube and I happen to agree with him, does that make us wrong because you do not share this opinion?

Your fanboyism is strong, I will give you that.

@punksterdaddy: I'm all good with whatever companies think they need to do to make money...

DRM

DLC

pay to win

Free to play

Whatever they think they need to do.

now that being said, if I don't support said practices guess what, I vote with my wallet. Period.

Greed is all around my friend deal with it.

Oh excuse me for being a fan of something, I didn't know it wasn't allowed. So F*** Y**!

In the year 2014 this year (2015) was looking like the best ever. Then delays started and EVERYTHING got delayed. Right now, 2016 seems like the best year in gaming, but of course same thing will happen again with the delays.
