E3 2002: Kakuto Chojin preshow report

Dream Publishing's fighter for the Xbox will be playable at E3.

Dream Publishing, the studio established by Seiichi Ishii, who previously worked on Tobal and The Bouncer, will have its Xbox fighting game on display at E3. The game has been designed with a decidedly dark look, which helps the development team convey the message that the fighters are in a life-or-death battle. Microsoft says that the graphics in Kakuto will be some of the most realistic yet--sweat will fly through the air, muscles will ripple, puddles will splash, and shadows will be cast realistically onto the characters and the surrounding environment. The game will reportedly have an advanced fighting system, but no details have been revealed as to how advanced it will be. Interestingly, Kakuto Chojin will also have a battle royal mode where up to four players can fight at once.

We'll have full coverage of Kakuto Chojin from the show floor at E3.
