Rockstar Games, a division of Take-Two Interactive, has announced the release of Grand Theft Auto III, its latest PC action game. The game was released for the Sony PlayStation 2 platform in October and quickly became the best-selling video game of 2001. The PC version of the game features enhanced graphics, improved sound, additional controls, and new customization options.

"With this release, we've been able to take the time to maximize the gaming experience for the PC platform," said Sam Houser, president of Rockstar Games and executive producer for Grand Theft Auto III. "We are delighted to share the Grand Theft Auto III phenomenon with an entirely new audience, as well as the huge numbers of die-hard fans who have patiently waited for GTAIII to come out on the PC."

Grand Theft Auto III was developed by Rockstar Games, and it is now available in stores for an approximate retail price of $49.99. For more information, take a look at our hands-on impressions of the game.
