We ran into Gearbox Software president Randy Pitchford near the Sierra booth at E3, and he gave us some good news. Half-Life: Blue Shift, the expansion pack for the PC version of Half-Life, officially went gold a few days before E3. As you read this, the game is being mastered for mass production. According to Pitchford, Blue Shift for the PC should be on store shelves on June 12.

Half-Life: Blue Shift takes place at the same time as the original game, but is played from the perspective of one of the security guards. Gearbox's previous games include Half-Life: Opposing Force, and the company is currently working on the Dreamcast version of Blue Shift as well as a PlayStation 2 version of the original Half-Life.
