Microsoft has been making a concerted effort to get more Japanese developers working on the Xbox 360, and word arrived today that European and North American gamers will get a chance to see one of the earliest results of that push firsthand. Ubisoft has announced that it will be publishing From Software's role-playing game Enchanted Arms (released in Japan earlier this year under the unwieldy title [eM] -eNCHANT arM-) internationally this summer.

While playing through the more than 50 hours of gameplay in Enchanted Arms (with a full hour of anime-style cutscenes), players will attempt to discover more than 75 controllable creatures while fending off attackers in turn-based battles. Ubisoft is heralding the title as the first, next-generation Japanese RPG.

No price or ratings information has been announced. For more on Enchanted Arms, check out GameSpot's hands-on impressions with an early version of the game.
