Developer Media Molecule has released a new patch for its game-making toolkit, Dreams. Update v2.06 adds some new content along with a few tweaks, fixes, and improvements to the overall experience.

The Welcome Garden Art Pack is the first new art pack to arrive since Dreams launched on February 14. It contains more than 40 sculptures that you can use to decorate your homespace, utilize in your own creations, or remix to create something new.

The latest patch also adds Community Jam Collections, which highlights specific collections and should make it easier for those who want to enter one of Dreams' Community Jams but don't quite know where to begin. There's also a new online indicator to let you know when creators are online.

Update v2.06 full patch notes

What's new?

  • Our first new art pack! - The Welcome Garden Art Pack contains more than 40 sculptures which will sit nicely alongside any content from the Welcome Home theme. Use them to spruce up your homespace, stamp into your own creations, or remix into something completely new.
  • Community Jam Collections - We've added support for specifying a collection to use with a Community Jam. This means a better starting point for folks who want to enter but don’t quite know where to begin.
  • Online Indicator - A green dot next to a dreamer’s name indicates they are online.

Other improvements

  • New: Most Used Creation now in the Impy Awards playlists.
  • Updated: Various tweaks and improvements to the Community Jam UI.
  • Fixed: Issue where the notifications feed would return to the start of the list after viewing one.
  • Other minor tweaks and improvements.

Dreams earned 9/10 in GameSpot's review, where I said, "Dreams is a refined constructor for building a wide variety of games, and a community-centric showcase where others can play them. It's a stunning achievement that encourages limitless creative expression, a place where people can come together, collaborate, and explore each other's imaginations. It's a tool for the fools who dream, and one of the most innovative releases in years."
