This morning, publisher Bethesda Softworks revealed some more details behind Dreamland, the turn-based strategy currently in development at Mythos Games, the company responsible for the original X-CCOM: UFO Defense. The official name of the game will be The Dreamland Chronicles: Freedom Ridge (or Freedom Ridge for short), and PC and PlayStation2 versions of the game will release simultaneously in North America in Q4 2000.

"Mythos Games is known for creating strategy games that redefine how gamers look at a particular genre," said Vlatko Andonov, president of Bethesda Softworks. "The original X-COM changed the way we looked at turn-based games, and Magic & Mayhem turned real-time strategy gaming on its ear. We believe Freedom Ridge is going to have an even greater impact."
