Dragon Ball FighterZ Kid Goku DLC Release Date Revealed

That Power Pole hits hard.

It was revealed about a month ago that Dragon Ball GT's Kid Goku was making his way to Arc System Works' Dragon Ball FighterZ. Kid Goku, officially called Goku GT in-game and the newest addition to the game's Fighter Pass 2 DLC, will be available on May 9.

Along with the official release date, publisher Bandai Namco Entertainment dropped a flashy new gameplay trailer. As per usual, the trailer is short, with only the quickest of glimpses into Goku GT's toolkit. But the barely 30-second snippet does show that, while Goku GT is a standard beam character not unlike his adult counterpart, he's got the power pole and he's not afraid to use it. You can watch the trailer below.

Goku GT is packaged in the game's Fighter Pass 2 DLC pack, which includes Jiren and Videl (who are out now) and SSGSS Gogeta and Dragon Ball Super's Broly (who will be released in the near future). The entire pack retails for $24.99 USD. All previously released DLC characters--including Android 17 and Bardock, and recently-released Jiren and Videl--retailed for $4.99 USD each, and it is likely the same will be the case for Goku GT.

Dragon Ball FighterZ is one of the nine games featured in the fighting game community's biggest tournament, the Evolution Championship Series. The other fighting games showing up on the main stage include BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle, Mortal Kombat 11, Samurai Shodown, SoulCalibur VI, Street Fighter V, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, Tekken 7, and Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st]. Evo 2019 will be held in Las Vegas, NV at the Mandalay Bay between August 2 and 4. Registration closes on July 14.
